STYX is proud to present an evening of new theatre from recent graduates, the first professional performances of work for these two emerging theatre companies.
As recent graduates from East 15 and St. Mary's, these two ensemble lead companies have created distinct pieces focused on the lives of Londoners at key moments in the 20th century.
Starched Theatre Presents - Laundry
Laundry is a play based on a street in the East End of London in 1952. It was a time when the rich owned motorcars, two roads away from the poor, who washed their clothes with salt. Laundry tells a story of community and the shame that can be borne out of it. As the characters try to keep face, the stains on their washing, hanging on the communal laundry line, reveal the secrets being kept behind closed doors. It'll all come out in the wash.
Monument Theatre Presents - Windrush Square
